DRAWING PROFESSOR, THE COOPER UNION SCHOOL OF ART, 2005-2013
The course is designed to explore the phenomena of drawing as basic to the visual language of all disciplines. The fundamental notion of observation and analysis in drawing is investigated. As preparation for work in an advanced level, the course involves further development of drawing skills and techniques, as well as an emphasis on individual aesthetic development.
ART TEACHER, SAINT ANN’S SCHOOL, 2001-2006
FOUNDER OF THE SCHOOL-LESS SCHOOL, NEW YORK CITY, APRIL 2013
The school- less school was founded in a reaction to the Cooper Unions’ decision to charge admission. There are bi monthly classes offered, that take place on the streets of New York . The students are asked to examine an aspect of the city, and to make visual interventions that respond to the streets of New York. Artists, musicians and writers also contribute to the classes as guest teachers and observers. This is a social experiment that opens the possibility of creating beyond the confines of a school.
